About The Potential Trust
A UK charity founded on a simple belief — that every child, regardless of background, deserves the chance to reach their full potential.
Born from a Passion for Potential
The Potential Trust was founded to provide, promote, and encourage whatever makes education more interesting and exciting for children and young people up to the age of 18 who have High Learning Potential or Dual and Multiple Exceptionality.
We work directly with schools and families to provide Questor Bursaries that help children from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds find their own passion. Our partnerships with universities, schools, and organisations encourage cutting-edge approaches to supporting these young people.
Since 2012, we have supported over 200 children through our programmes, hosted 15+ conferences, and built a growing network of educators, parents, and professionals who believe in doing things differently.

What We Believe
These five principles guide every decision we make and every child we support.
Every child has the right to learn
All children have the right to learning which maximises their potential, including those with HLP and DME.
What helps one, helps all
Effective approaches to teaching children with HLP and DME are beneficial for all children.
Build on strengths first
Learning should begin by recognising and building on individual strengths, then supporting any areas of need.
Support those who support children
Parents, carers, professionals, and others working with these children should be supported positively.
Partnership changes everything
Collaboration with individuals and organisations can help change the world for these children and should be encouraged.
Potential is everywhere
Curiosity, creativity, perception, and persistence should be celebrated — regardless of background or circumstances.
Anna Comino-James
Founder & Chair of Trustees
Anna founded The Potential Trust in 2012 with a clear vision: to champion children with High Learning Potential and Dual/Multiple Exceptionality who too often slip through the gaps in traditional education.
With a background in education and a deep understanding of the challenges these children and their families face, Anna has grown the charity from a small grassroots initiative into a nationally recognised organisation supporting over 200 children.
Her passion for changing how society sees and supports exceptional children continues to drive every programme, partnership, and bursary the Trust delivers.
